Nope! No way! Wasn't going to happen!
Three days later, all three of us had ball pythons.
They're just so cute!
Little did I know I would become obsessed, a common problem in the reptile hobby. Reptiles are amazing creatures, and I have learned so much about and from them. My education is ever-growing and one I love sharing with others!
How my obsession began.
The longer I have been around, the more obsessed I have become with all things animals. I currently have four mammals (one dog and three cats) and an ever growing assortment of reptiles.
In 2020, my son begged me to take him to an exotic pet store to look at snakes. He was persistent, I caved, and we went to the store. My daughter also wanted a snake. I told them multiple times there was no way we were getting a snake.
During the week, I am a speech-language pathologist, and my ultimate goal is to work with people who stutter and to include my animals in my therapy sessions. When I take the animals out into the world, people approach me like we have known each other all our lives. They are comfortable talking with a stranger because they focus on the animals. Research shows children who read to dogs improve their oral reading and reading comprehension compared to reading to an adult, because the dogs don't judge or correct mistakes. I am hoping that same comfort level is true with my animals.
Working in speech is my passion. Reptiles are my obsession.
Combining the two has become my dream.

But she was so helpful and knowledgeable about the animals that I didn’t feel scared at all after she demonstrated. And she has so many reptiles to show and teach about and had no issues being able to inform me with my questions. Also, she’s very sweet. Highly recommend!!! 😃

Super Professional
Reptilia Rock has been the most amazing experience! We had them come to my 5 year old’s birthday party and it was the biggest hit. Aside from my son being obsessed with his party because of this reptile program, all the other kids had a ton of fun holding different types of reptiles and even the parents were all for it! We are soooo happy we found them just in time for our reptile-obsessed son’s party. Shannon and her team are super professional and they made it a wonderful experience!
